With hits such as ‘Blowin in the wind,’ and ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,’ Bob Dylan is often considered one of the greatest singer songwriters of all time. We now know Bob Dylan’s talent is not confined to music, but he is also an accredited artist, writer and filmmaker.
Some early examples of Dylan’s artistic talent include a self-portrait produced in 1970 as an album cover and album art for the Big Pink in 1968. Despite examples of his artwork dating back to the 1960s, it was not widely published until the mid 2000s. Once Dylan’s creations were made available for public sale in 2008, they instantly became a big hit with his first solo exhibition in the Modern Art Museum Shanghai being visited by over 100,000 people in the first three months.
Bob Dylan is still producing art today, drawing inspiration from the places he has travelled and visited whilst on tour, and it has been known to fetch large amounts on the secondary market making it a worthwhile investment. In 2022 a rare Dylan piece ‘Abstract Nude,’ sold for a staggering £84,736 at auction.

Bob Dylan, 'Woman In Red Lion Pub' Limited Edition Drawn Blank Series Print 2008

The ‘Woman in Red Lion Pub,’ has become an iconic image from Bob Dylan’s original series ‘Drawn Blank,’ which was first released in a book in 1994, then as an exhibition in 2008. The series features a collection of sketches including still life’s, nudes and landscapes which Dylan produced in an attempt to relax whilst traveling on tour. This expressionist portrait perfectly demonstrates Dylan’s bold approach to figurative painting through strong strokes of gouache and watercolour.
The original painting has been sold for over £20,000 and it remains one of Bob Dylan’s most iconic images. This print is a Giclee print on Hahnemuhle museum paper, published by Washington Green Fine Art and is one of only 295 editions making it highly sought after. It comes with the original Washington Green certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
