Enicar Sherpa Graph 300 - 1960's Jim Clark Chronograph Manual Valjoux Watch

Enicar Sherpa Graph 300

A rare Enicar Sherpa Graph 'Jim Clark' 300 Chronograph wristwatch, circa 1967. Black signed dial with tritium indexes and white subsidiary dials, stainless case with crown and two pushers, plexiglass crystal fitted with a manual wind Valjoux movement, distinctive red lollipop chronograph hand, mounted on a black leather strap with buckle fastening.
Also referred to as the "Jim Clark”, the Enicar Sherpa Graph 300 was made famous by renowned British Formula 1 driver Jim Clark OBE, who was repeatedly photographed wearing the reference. The “Sherpa” name was inspired by that of the irrepressible local carriers of the 1956 Swiss Himalayan expedition to Everest, which relied on Enicar timepieces. These chronograph watches were intended as technical instruments and were used as such in a range of specialised endeavours.
Case diameter approx. 41mm.
Case back with Sherpa 300 emblem and numbered 1030101 and 314962.
Movement is currently functioning. In good cosmetic condition. A few scratches to plexiglass and rubbing to dial. Scratches and knocks to case back. Typical signs of wear throughout as conducive with age and use. Lacking bezel.
