Terence Cuneo (British, 1907-1996), ‘Keeping in Touch, The Post Office in Space’, the giant Post Office aerial at Goonhilly Downs, Cornwall, offset lithograph in colours on fabric, circa 1962, framed and glazed.
The aerial, known as Arthur, represented a significant milestone in global telecommunications. It was the first open parabolic antenna for telecommunications and made history by transmitting TV signals via satellite to the USA in July 1962.
Another example was auctioned by Christie’s on 15th May 2005.
Measures approximately cm x cm including frame and appears in good condition.
