R Lalique -tête De Belier- Rams Head Clear/frosted Glass Car Mascot Figure 1136

'Tête de Belier'

René Lalique (1860-1945), ‘Tête de Belier’ (Rams Head), glass car mascot No. 1136, introduced on 3.2.1928. Clear and frosted glass with a dark grey hue, displayed on an original Breves Galleries radiator lighting mount.
Reference: Marcihac no.1136, p.499. Weiner p.36.
Signed along the side of the lower neck ‘R Lalique’ in moulded uppercase lettering in relief. Signature is worn due to rubbing against the mount. Radiator mount reads: ‘Breves Galleries, Knightsbridge, S.W.E, PAT, APP, (drilled hole), 65/28’.
Measures 13.5cm high overall and displays rather well. Some bruising predominantly behind the neck and to the nose, with a small bubble within the glass. Mount removes to show chips around the underside circumference of the base. Mount has minor wear and oxidisation blemishes.
