How To Style Your Home With Antiques And Collectibles

Interested in antiques and collectibles but unsure how to incorporate them into your home? Or do you already have a collection but can’t find a way to display it? It’s actually a lot easier than you may think. There are a multitude of options out there and the only limit is your imagination.

Mix old with new

A misconception with antiques and collectibles is that people often associate them with really old, dusty items that just sit in your attic or take up space in storage. But this is only a fraction of the truth. Antiques and collectibles are fashionable and there’s a spectrum of options out there; so some of them are guaranteed to meet your decor requirements. Why not try mixing some contemporary art or mid-century design in with your antiques for a nice well-rounded balance?

Display them proudly

Some antiques and collectibles are born to sit in pride of place and wow your guests. Whether you’re displaying them on a coffee table or mantlepiece, or even mounting them to the wall, they are a fab addition to your home. Our latest paintings ‘The London Eye by Mark Spain or ‘Mini Cooper S from The Italian Job by Roz Wilson would make superb features.

Show off your collection

Some collections can take decades to accumulate, so why not show it off? Why not have a section or entire cabinet dedicated solely to your collection? Pairing similar items together such as vintage movie posters and film memorabilia will create the perfect balance.

Add a burst of colour

Brighten up a room with a burst of colour! In a setting with neutral colours you could display a bright canvas or Art Deco garniture to bring the room to life. Suddenly a room that might have been considered lifeless will be transformed into a place where everyone wants to hang out.

Furniture

Mid-century and designer furniture make a great addition to any home, and it’s easy to incorporate into your interior design! Why not try adding a set of Leon Krier Giorgetti bar stools to your kitchen island, or a Svend Langkilde coffee table to your living room?
