ANDREW BEER – MARY ROSE

Andrew Beer (British, 1862-1954) was an English artist. He is most known for his paintings of racing pigeons. This oil on board, entitled ‘Mary Rose’, contains beautiful colour imagery and would be a great addition for an avid collector.

SNAFFLES – “VARMINT LITTLE LADY ON WIRY OSS”

Charles “Snaffles” Johnson Payne (British, 1884-1967) was an english painter. He was most well known for his paintings depicting horses, such as this one. He was a highly acclaimed painter and a number of his paintings are featured at the Grand National. 

Price: £1,000

 

RICHARD PRINCIPAL LEITCH – LOCH STUDY 

Leitch (1827-1882) was a landscape artist whose main focus was watercolour paintings like this one. This painting measures 16.5 cm x 24cm and the frame 37cm x 44cm. It is signed ‘R P Leitch’ in the lower left corner.

JOHN CLIFFORD WARDLE – LEOPARD

John Clifford Wardle (1907-1979) was a British painter who focused on animals and genre pictures. This pencil study drawing depicts a leopard with the utmost intricate detail. The inside of the mount measures 15cm x 13cm and the frame is 34cm x 32cm, and this drawing is signed in the right corner. Priced to sell at £60, this drawing would make a fantastic addition to your fine art collection.

EDWARD GORDON CRAIG – ELLEN TERRY

Edward Gordon Craig (British, 1872-1966) had many acclaimed works under his belt. He was an actor, theatre practitioner, and scenic designer. Later in his career Craig focused on woodcut prints like this one, and he believed that art was not an imitation of life but rather a means to express the inexpressible. This woodcut print is titled ‘Ellen Terry in London Assurance’ and is priced to sell at £100.
